Description

This Warm Fig and Prosciutto Goat Cheese Dip is a luscious, creamy appetizer that combines tangy goat cheese, savory prosciutto, and sweet fig jam for a perfect balance of flavors. Topped with crunchy pistachios and served warm with crackers, it’s an elegant dish ideal for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheeses

  • 225 g (8 oz) goat cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 115 g (4 oz) reduced-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature

Mix-ins and Toppings

  • 85–115 g (3–4 oz) prosciutto, finely chopped
  • 1 cup fig jam
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios

Serving

  • Crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) to prepare for baking the dip.
  2. Blend Cheeses: Add the softened goat cheese and cream cheese to a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. Alternatively, use a stand mixer or hand mixer in a large bowl to beat the cheeses together until smooth.
  3. Mix in Prosciutto: Transfer the cheese mixture to a mixing bowl. Gently fold in the finely chopped prosciutto until evenly incorporated.
  4. Prepare Baking Dish: Spread the cheese and prosciutto mixture evenly into a 23 × 18 × 5 cm (9 × 7 × 2-inch) baking dish or pie plate, smoothing the top surface.
  5. Add Fig Jam: Evenly spread the fig jam over the top of the cheese layer to add a sweet contrast.
  6. Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the dip is warmed through and slightly bubbly.
  7. Finish and Serve: Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped pistachios. Serve warm or at room temperature with crackers for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure the goat cheese and cream cheese are softened to room temperature to ensure easy blending.
  • The amount of prosciutto can be adjusted based on preference for saltiness and texture.
  • For a nut-free version, omit the pistachios or substitute with toasted breadcrumbs.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator and gently reheated before serving.
  • This dip is perfect for entertaining and pairs well with a variety of crackers or sliced baguette.
