Description

A delicious and hearty one-pan meal featuring savory sausage and roasted sweet potatoes glazed with a sweet and tangy honey garlic sauce. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner that combines bold flavors with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

Sausage and Vegetables

  • 1 lb sausage (your choice)
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for roasting the sweet potatoes and cooking the sausage.
  2. Prepare Sweet Potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the peeled and cubed sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Roast Sweet Potatoes: Spread the sweet potatoes evenly on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven for 20 minutes to start softening and developing flavor.
  4. Make Honey Garlic Sauce: While the sweet potatoes cook, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, and soy sauce in a small bowl to create the flavorful glaze.
  5. Add Sausage and Sauce: Remove the baking sheet from the oven, add the sausage pieces to the sweet potatoes, then pour the honey garlic sauce over everything.
  6. Toss and Continue Roasting: Toss the sweet potatoes, sausage, and sauce together to coat everything evenly. Return the baking sheet to the oven and roast for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the sausage is fully cooked and sweet potatoes are tender.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Optionally sprinkle fresh parsley on top for garnish. Serve the dish warm for a comforting meal.

Notes

  • Choose your favorite type of sausage such as pork, chicken, or turkey based on preference.
  • Ensure sweet potatoes are cut into uniform cubes for even roasting.
  • Adjust soy sauce quantity to taste for saltiness.
  • To make it gluten-free, use gluten-free soy sauce alternative.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
