Description

A delightful Honey Lavender Latte combining the floral notes of lavender with the sweetness of honey and rich espresso, topped with steamed milk and froth for a comforting and aromatic coffee experience.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Honey Lavender Syrup

  • 1 teaspoon dried culinary lavender
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon honey

For the Latte

  • 2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 3/4 cup milk (any kind)
  • Additional honey (optional, for garnish)
  • Dried lavender buds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Honey Lavender Syrup: In a small saucepan, bring water and dried lavender to a simmer. Remove from heat, stir in honey, then let the mixture steep for 5 minutes. After steeping, strain the syrup to remove the lavender buds.
  2. Brew Coffee: Prepare 2 shots of espresso or 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee and pour it into your serving mug.
  3. Add Syrup: Stir in 1 to 2 teaspoons of the prepared honey lavender syrup into the coffee to combine the flavors thoroughly.
  4. Steam and Froth Milk: Heat the milk until steaming hot, then froth it using a milk frother or whisk to create a creamy foam.
  5. Assemble the Latte: Pour the steamed milk over the coffee mixture while holding back the foam with a spoon, then spoon the milk foam on top for a smooth finish.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with a drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of dried lavender buds. Serve the latte immediately to enjoy its fresh and fragrant flavors.

Notes

  • You can use any type of milk including dairy, almond, oat, or soy, according to your preference.
  • Adjust the amount of honey lavender syrup to taste for sweetness and floral intensity.
  • If you don’t have espresso, strong brewed coffee works well as a substitute.
  • Store leftover syrup in the refrigerator for up to one week for easy use in other beverages or desserts.
  • Use culinary-grade lavender to ensure safety and avoid bitterness.
