Description

A luscious and easy-to-make creamy steak pasta dinner featuring tender sirloin strips, al dente fettuccine, and a rich Parmesan cream sauce infused with garlic and Italian seasoning. Perfect for a comforting weeknight meal that feels indulgent yet comes together in just over half an hour.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta

Steak and Seasoning

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil Pasta: Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add a generous pinch of salt to the boiling water.
  2. Cook Pasta: Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until al dente, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Drain and Save Pasta Water: Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest. Drizzle a little olive oil over the drained pasta to prevent sticking and set aside.
  4. Season Steak: Season the sirloin steak strips with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning evenly.
  5. Heat Oil: In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  6. Sear Steak: Add the seasoned steak strips in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Then remove from skillet and set aside.
  7. Sauté Garlic: Reduce heat to medium and add the minced garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring constantly.
  8. Deglaze Skillet: Pour in 1 cup of beef broth while scraping the bottom of the skillet to loosen browned bits. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  9. Add Cream: Slowly stir in 1 cup of heavy cream, continuously stirring until the mixture comes to a gentle simmer.
  10. Melt Cheese into Sauce: Gradually add 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese melts and sauce becomes creamy. Adjust sauce thickness with reserved pasta water if necessary.
  11. Season Sauce: Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings by adding more salt, pepper, or Italian seasoning to your preference.
  12. Combine Steak and Sauce: Return the cooked steak strips to the skillet, stirring to ensure they are evenly coated with the creamy sauce.
  13. Add Pasta to Sauce: Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and gently toss to combine and coat with sauce. Add reserved pasta water if the mixture appears dry.
  14. Serve: Remove from heat and serve the creamy steak pasta in bowls, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.
  15. Enjoy: Dig in and savor your delicious creamy steak pasta dinner!

Notes

  • Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce consistency – it helps the sauce cling better to pasta.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best melting and flavor.
  • Adjust steak cooking time based on your preferred doneness level.
  • For a lighter sauce, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a mixture of cream and milk.
  • Fresh parsley garnish adds color and a fresh note, but is optional.
  • Ensure to not overcook pasta to keep the ideal al dente texture.
