Description

This creamy dill pickle dip combines tangy Greek yogurt, smooth cream cheese, and zesty dill pickles for a flavorful and refreshing appetizer. Enhanced with sharp cheddar, ranch seasoning, and a hint of heat from hot sauce and red pepper flakes, it’s perfect for serving with chips, crackers, or fresh bread. The dip is quick to prepare and best enjoyed chilled to let the flavors meld wonderfully.

Ingredients

Scale

Dairy Base

  • 1 1/2 cups Greek Yogurt (unflavored)
  • 1 (8-ounce) package Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream

Pickles & Herbs

  • 2 cups Refrigerated Dill Pickles (chopped)
  • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Dill (diced)

Seasonings & Extras

  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 packet Dry Ranch Dressing Mix (3 Tablespoons)
  • 4 ounces Sharp Cheddar Cheese (grated)
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons Hot Sauce (Yellowbird hot sauce recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • Pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Dairy Ingredients: In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix softened cream cheese, sour cream, and Greek yogurt until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Pickles and Seasonings: Fold in 1 2/3 cups of the chopped dill pickles (reserve the remaining 1/3 cup for garnish), fresh diced dill, grated sharp cheddar cheese, dry ranch seasoning mix, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, and onion powder. Ensure all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Adjust Flavor: Taste the dip and adjust seasoning by adding salt, pepper, or extra hot sauce to suit your preference.
  4. Chill: Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 to 60 minutes. Chilling allows the flavors to meld and enhances the dip’s taste and texture.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Before serving, garnish the top of the dip with the reserved 1/3 cup chopped dill pickles, additional fresh dill, or extra cheddar cheese as desired. Serve alongside kettle potato chips, crackers, or pieces of French bread.

Notes

  • For best flavor, allow the dip to chill for at least an hour before serving.
  • You can adjust the heat level by varying the amount of hot sauce and red pepper flakes.
  • Use refrigerated dill pickles for optimal crunch and flavor.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, finely chop the pickles or pulse them in a food processor before adding.
  • This dip can be made a day ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator.
