Description

Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps are a quick and flavorful meal perfect for lunch or dinner. Tender cooked chicken is combined with a garlicky, creamy sauce and spicy kick, then rolled with melted cheddar cheese and green onions in tortillas. Pan-toasted until crispy and golden, these wraps offer a perfect balance of savory, spicy, and cheesy goodness in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Wraps

  • 2 large tortillas (regular or low-carb/high-protein)

Chicken Filling

  • 7 oz cooked chicken (about 200 grams, chopped; rotisserie chicken works great)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced or grated; adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon light Greek yogurt (or plain yogurt)
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce (such as Frank’s)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 oz grated cheese (about 90 grams; cheddar blend used)
  • 1 green onion (chopped)
  • Olive oil spray (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Mix the Chicken Filling: In a bowl, combine the chopped cooked chicken, minced garlic, light mayonnaise, light Greek yogurt, hot sauce, and salt thoroughly. This mixture will be flavorful and slightly creamy with a spicy kick.
  2. Prepare the Wraps: Lay out each tortilla flat on a clean surface. On the lower third of each tortilla, sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of grated cheese. Then top with approximately â…” cup of the chicken mixture per wrap. Add another tablespoon of cheese on top, followed by a sprinkle of chopped green onion.
  3. Roll the Wraps: Fold in the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll tightly from the bottom to form a secure wrap, enclosing all the filling.
  4. Heat the Pan: Place a non-stick pan over medium-high heat and spray the surface lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking and help crisping.
  5. Cook the Wraps: Position the wraps seam-side down in the pan. Cook for 3–4 minutes until the bottom is crispy and golden. Flip and cook the other side for another 3–4 minutes, covering the pan with a lid to allow the inside to heat evenly and the cheese to melt.
  6. Serve: Remove the wraps from the pan, slice each in half diagonally, and serve warm for a satisfying, delicious meal.

Notes

  • You can use rotisserie chicken or leftover cooked chicken to save prep time.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic and hot sauce to suit your taste preference.
  • For a healthier wrap, opt for low-carb or whole wheat tortillas.
  • Use a non-stick pan and olive oil spray to reduce added fat while achieving crispiness.
  • Covering the pan while cooking helps melt the cheese and warms the filling through.
  • These wraps can be customized with additional veggies such as bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
