Ingredients
- 6 cups cold water (preferably filtered or purified)
- 5 limes (cut into wedges, whole with skin)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (or more to taste)
- Ice (as needed)
- Fresh lime slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Blend the Limes: Add the cold water, lime wedges, and granulated sugar to a blender. Blend the mixture until smooth and the lime wedges are thoroughly broken down, releasing the lime flavor and oils from the peel.
- Strain the Mixture: Place a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl and pour the blended mixture through it, catching the liquid. Use a spoon to press the pulp to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the leftover pulp and lime pieces in the strainer.
- Blend with Sweetened Condensed Milk: Rinse the blender to remove any remaining lime residue. Pour the strained lime juice back into the blender, add the sweetened condensed milk, and blend again until the mixture is frothy and fully combined, creating a creamy consistency.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice, pour the Brazilian lemonade over the ice, and optionally garnish with fresh lime slices. Serve immediately while the drink is cold and frothy for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of sweetened condensed milk to your desired sweetness and creaminess level.
- Do not over-blend lime wedges to avoid bitterness from the white pith; blend just enough to break down the skins.
- Use fresh limes for the best flavor and aroma.
- Serve immediately for optimal frothiness and freshness.
- Straining ensures a smooth drink texture without pulp or seeds.
